God's Wheels
Transportation is often a major barrier for families experiencing homelessness.

Through our God’s Wheels program, Family Promise of Collin County helps remove that barrier by providing reliable transportation solutions for families in our program when available.
When vehicles are donated, we match them with families entering our program who do not have access to transportation. Additionally, God's Wheels supports families currently in our program with minor car repairs to help them maintain reliable transportation for work, school, appointments, and other essential needs.
Transportation = Independence
Mass transportation is virtually non-existent in Collin County, making reliable transportation a critical need for our families. Through our partnership with God's Wheels, we help secure dependable vehicles for guests in our shelter program. Upon successful completion of the program, and when vehicles are available, families may have the opportunity to purchase a vehicle for a small program fee.
This program is exclusively for individuals enrolled in the Family Promise shelter program. While we do not extend vehicle assistance to those outside of the program, we welcome vehicle donations and can provide an IRS 1098C form for your tax-deductible contribution—your generosity directly impacts families in our community. Many of our guests already own vehicles but may need help with gas or repairs; when funding allows, FPOCC supports approved repairs, car registration, inspections, and provides weekly gas cards. If you are a skilled mechanic or repair shop owner and would like to volunteer your services to help our families, we would love to hear from you. Please email us to learn more.
