Who We Are

Our Story

The Family Promise Network is a national nonprofit organization with over 200 affiliates, established in 1985, on the belief that people are compassionate and want to make a difference.

Family Promise of Collin County (FPOCC) has been serving homeless families with children in Collin County since 2011. We provide food, shelter and support services to these families with children as they regain stability and independence. By mobilizing communities and existing resources to assist homeless families with children, FPOCC can provide food, shelter and support at a third of the cost of a traditional shelter program as they regain sustainable independence.

We recognize that poverty is a multifaceted problem that requires a multifaceted response. We respond by integrating educational outreach, smart programming, effective policies, and the hands-on work of thousands of volunteers. Our Affiliates are nonsectarian. They welcome all guests. Volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and represent nearly every faith in the United States.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission...
...is to help families with children experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

Our Vision...
... is to be a nation in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.

Equity Statement

Family Promise of Collin County values and celebrates the unique attributes, characteristics, and perspectives that make each person who they are. We believe that our strength lies in our diversity among the broad range of people who volunteer, work and are served by our Affiliate. We consider diversity, inclusion and access a driver of our effectiveness and seek out diversity of participation, thought and action. It is our aim, therefore, that our stakeholders reflect and embrace these core values.
